It is for O/O or L/O...loads not from Swift but from a broker with driver using Swift equipment. Usually all live on both ends.

No reason for you to know Doc ... as inkeper said, it an O/O thing ... we work directly with a broker, no Swift involvement, no Swift planners, no Swift CSR and no need to deal with our DM ... everything on the load goes through the broker and we have a dedicated team we deal with ... talk to the same person most times - usually several times a day - to hunt for loads. Any issues on the load, broker handles it, Swift is out of the loop.

There is a CSR that interfaces with the broker ... they have two jobs, input the load into the system, committing our truck to the load and then make sure the rest of Swift keeps their hands off our load. Not so much now - as the firewalls are in place -but there was a time when the planners would try to steal our loads and they are still pissed about the fact that we use the broker to self dispatch and they have no control over our truck.

Mystic, there are some planners in some areas that will never get over being pissed. Like Lancaster and Laredo.

I was thinking about this thread the last few days. It would be NICE if veteran drivers could "Opt Out" of receiving messages like Trip Planning, or reminders to update your logs, the "You Have Arrived", etc. etc. etc.

While it may be helpful for new drivers, it gets old in a hurry once you've got the routine wired.

    DocWatson Thanks this.

oh man you guys are lucky, my now to be ex DM seemed to just want me to accept and move along, just blows my phone up to accept scrappy loads and if I don't answer because it's my ten had another driver knock on my door and also sent a message that he would send police to do welfare check.

So you want to be treated like a mature adult driver?

    Now, the only question is...

Are you grown up enough for, Granny Goose?

Finally, thank you because that has been what I am going through. I have been doing a lot of 16 miles, 24 miles, 126 miles and the most 264.

This was a Swift DM? I'd report that behavior to Safety and to the Terminal Manager in a heartbeat. Never #### with a trucker's sleep on a 10 unless it's a screaming emergency. Period.

Tell then fine, send a cop to do a welfare check.
I'll log on-duty for it, and then start my 10 all over again.

If I'm sent a pplan in the middle of my 10 I ignore it until I wake up and can assess it properly.
I don't think it is in the driver manual, or my job description, that I am expected to be on-call 24 hours a day to respond to messages.

    NavigatorWife and Lepton1 Thank this.
