Well, you could just simply pay for the room up front. Then Swift doesn't have to pay up front and go through the hassle of the paperwork and man power of getting paid back.

The really sad thing is, the sense of entitlement.

Do you really think Swift is responsible?
"sad that swift would rather have us layover in a terminal for 17 hours than pay..."

    Really?
    ???
Swift is not responsible for the bus schedules.
Nor are they responsible for your comfort along the way.

You are free to provide your own transportation, after all.
You could apply the bus fare to a car rental or airfare and cab, or walking expenses.

Trucking is not a comfortable job. Get used to it.

    Edited: to return to subject.

Moose, you don't know anything about me or the life I've lived. You took an offhand comment about what we stated at best we considered a minor inconvenience and turned it into what you wanted it to be. Which is was not. If you have nothing real to contribute besides argumentative drivel. Please leave.

I was almost ready to take your side until you decided to lump all of us conservatives as morons.

Talk about not having a clue! Talk about throwing words around in ignorance! YOU don't know me, and YOU have no clue what a conservative is!

Not to mention a great deal of drivers are "moron conservatives"

You're right snow, I did misspeak, I should have categorized better. I just get tired of people that get on an Internet forum and try to expand on something I said and make assumptions about me when they don't know a thing.

I didn't mean all conservatives. I know plenty who are fiscally conservative without buying into all this crap of how everyone but the older generation is "entitled" and is ruining this country. For that o apologize

Yes patty, I am defensive when people make assumptions about me. I get upset when people talk down to me and categorize me as "entitled" based on selective reading in a thread they entered solely to start an argument with nothing to contribute.

I have zero experience with trucking. I hope to use this forum as a place to nurture a network of mentors, colleagues and friends. It's far too early in the game for me to be interested in alienating anyone.

Moosetek, your info suggests you've been driving for 4 years? You obviously like Swift as a company. It can be difficult to find positive opinions of the larger companies...did you go through training with Swift? Have you worked for them since you started? I'm sorry if that info is available elsewhere...I'm right in the middle of packing--so I can't really do a search right this second--but would love to read your take on Swift's training academy tomorrow on the bus. Four years isn't too far back to remember the highlights. Got any pointers for a nervous newbie? :)
