Pick your own loads off a load board at Schneider or landstar. Never lease and not have real control over your revenue.

Totally do not get your post pick off load boards from different companies or go work for those comp. ?? i had total control over my money when i leased before and did well at staying out 16 days at a time its all how you set up your business and do your books with a make money structure and a go to work attitude. I just want info from swift L/O I dont need lectures on why i shouldn't lease no offence.

There are plenty of topics on here that are recent as far as L/O and you can get much information from them. There is one thing that I am not sure if still the same or changed. Unless you have a down payment then you have to start as a Company driver and average at least 2500 miles per week for 4 weeks before you can get into a lease. If you are running a dedicated account that you do not get those miles then you might have a problem.

    Bettsexpress Thanks this.

It's probably gotten harder these days to run L/O with swift, compared to yesteryears. I've been doing it 2 years now. I will be first to admit, it makes you a glorified company driver. Better Schneider or Landstar as mentioned above.

I paid off my truck with swift in 2012 left in 2013 to go run for a local company .a year and a half later I decide to move south and cant find anything stable to bring in similar income and start having problems with the truck. so I decide to sell it because it needs some repair that I couldn't fix and didn't want it to stop running and I cant get anything for it. I called swift leasing company to inquire about coming back as an o/o and they say yes and I don't have to put down a down payment because I already pay off a truck with them
