No. They pay you back in payments of $35 over 26 months and the loan is the same. Somebody is not telling you truth. Do not trust your recuter they will say anything. It might be different is certain areas because of demand but that is how it is here. We have four vets in our class. Insure you have your hard card and recent physical. Lost three in the first day cause they didn't have the proper paper work and the recruter told them they were good.

I already told the recruiter not to waste my time or his with BS/respectfully :) Again, he said I would have to work for SWIFT for 12-months and the school would be free without any up-front or payroll deductions.

i did my class last year, so odds are they changed it. The vet deal was 1500 and they pay it all off in 6 months when i went though it. Also you will lose A LOT more only about 1 in 5 graduate out of Richmond.

Didnt read anything but you cant get housing in phx cheaper. If you do not need to use it that is a different story.

    Really?

Do you need to share your room with other people to pass the tests?
Or, would it be better to study in private - sleep in private, shower in private... keeping your private time to yourself - and get those useful tips when you are in class with the others?

It's like saying that you need to team drive to be a successful driver.
It's also like saying that one is not smart enough to figure out this 'rocket science of truck driving' by one's self.

Ok. I'm going to chime in because I'm seeing a lot of hearsay and misinformation. The veterans deal is you stay for 12 months, swift forgives the school loan. Period. Housing is still on you, team, veteran, or otherwise... you pay back housing. At millington Tony will go over the addendum and Contract IN DETAIL. They are not hiding anything from you and they give you a black and white copy to read before and after you sign.

its not all new drivers that end up in the school. Some guys end up going back into trucking, hell one of my best friends now i net in the school and he has over 15 years OTR experiance he simply let his CDL lapse when he stopped driving to help out his dad with his business.

Why shut yourself off from such a great resource, hell because of him a few people managed to graduate that otherwise wouldn't of because of his help with things like pretrip and a different view on backing then the intructors. Funny enough one intructor told him to teach a new class how to back while he took others out for road driving.

Shutting yourself off from the others does not help you and with the way swifts schools are you need the help from other students to get though it, not everything is in the book.

Just from my time in the school, the guys that sheltered themselves from everyone else ended up failing where as the ones that did what they could to make the best of it and "mingle"
with the other students are the few that passed.
