How does the fee work? Is it easier/cheaper for me to just set-up my own housing?

I've never drove for Swift but are you going to wanna share your space with other Swifties? If you can afford to rent a cheap motel or something I would do that.

    Sean_Reno Thanks this.

I'm not 100% committed to SWIFT yet. I will follow-up w/them tomorrow, but I'm just figuring if they are going to charge me X for a room (take it out of my check, etc)...I might as well just get my own room.

Ok, lets say its $600 or $700...why not just pay for it and get a room to myself at a Motel 6 or something :?

depends on what school you are going to first off, some have better housing then others. Also if you separate yourself from the others in your class you are going to fail, you need to be near the other students to study together and to help each other out. If you do not have fun with the other people there you will fail out.

I do not know which school you plan to intend but at the Richmond Academy the housing fee is $500. They take it out of your pay check in 6 payments of $92 on top of the 13 month $75. In total you will owe $4400. Also they may and will put you three to a room with only two beds. One guy has to sleep on a cot. They will never say anything about the $92 even when they go over contract but it is in there. They want you to believe it's only $75.

Also here in Richmond it is $841 to get your on room. Swift will pay $500. If you do not want them to pay it is $1200 for three weeks.

the housing fee is 23 bucks over 6 months, not 6 payments of 92.

I'm not too worried about failing. But, I agree being social is probably a good thing. I'm only going to SWIFT if they guarantee its free (Veteran Scholarship).
