Husband was asked to park his truck at p&g in Iowa, drive a day cab to Manteno, switch day cabs with another driver and head back to p&g. They didn't give him a meeting time or any info. Anything he should know?

They expect you to run hard and fast.
It's a quick in and out and back.
Not being in my own truck was hard. The day cab is not really driver friendly.

The loads are scheduled to meet somewhere in the middle. The first driver there waits on the second, then they swap trailers and roll.

It's fine for a day, but I could never do it full time.

I've experienced it a few times.
Now, I avoid it at all costs.

Still, he should do it at least once.
You never know, he might like it.
If he likes it he might find something similar close to home that would get him home more often.

That is a local job that OTR sometimes fills in for.
I'm much too lazy for such work.

    inkeper and iloveatrucker Thank this.

A day cab is not driver friendly? Dang it boy! Why didn't you say something 2 years ago when I left OTR to do the shuttle out of Lancaster in a day cab!

He agreed to do it, but isn't thrilled, especially since he has to leave his truck in the p&g lot. But miles are miles, and it is better than sitting.
