So I'm wondering what is behind the pay increase we will be getting in May.

We had an increase last year, and from what I read the stockholders were none too happy about the idea.
Why another less than a year later?

Is it because most other companies followed suit soon after, and again leveled the playing field?

If the trend continues, Swift could singlehandedly force the entire industry into being a much better paying one.

    DocWatson Thanks this.

In any case, won't have to wait longer than Monday for the details.

I'm not real unhappy with my current cpm but what I'd really like to see is hourly pay for all Line4 related activity or raise the cpm per quarter on the bonus. Or maybe subsidize a higher portion of the medical premiums.

Whatever they do, it's better than nada.

Aren't Knight and Swift of the same family?

I don't know yet what the increase is. The message said it would be revealed on the 23rd.
I doubt it will be as big as the last, but every little bit helps.

Well, until it trickles up to the general economy.
Then it will simply be status quo again, if not worse.

I was reading an article that the Swift "Short Miles" class action lawsuit which has been going on for 10 years is now moving forward. Estimates of over half a billion with a B dollars shorted Swift drivers. Some of you guys might be able to retire if Swift loses.

No, TBH tho they all know one and other, Kevin Knight (Owner of Knight) used to work as a upper management for them in the 80's or 90's. Again tho they are all friends im sure they were standing in the public bathroom taking a piss when the idea dawned on them.

Driver retention would be my guess and filling seats. Seems like pay is going up in a lot of trucking companies. About bloody time!!!
