Good news that the camera has a lens cap. What about a mute button when parked? Or does it continue to pick up audio 24/7 even when the driver is off duty or sleeping, perhaps snoring really loud. I can see a lot of drivers all of a sudden 'out of the blue' being sent down for sleep analysis tests and some drivers being fired on the spot after the company snitch heard barnyard porn on the driver's TV.

    Kahlua and OceanDan Thank this.

A camera recording around outside of vehicle is one thing but recording inside is going too far....sounds like these Co's need to reconsider who they're hiring..

No offensive, you might be a nice guy, but ima just state the fact. According to your profile your a student. So you don't live in a truck yet. It's like a mini drone following you around recording you at home. What u ate for breakfast, what type of soda you drink, what time you pass gas. I'm okay with facing outside but inside? Really, if you think he was on his phone then go thru his phone records.

You state you have a camera in your car, but are they inward too? Or just recording out.

I bet you about 70% drivers dont care for Camara facing the window.

Fyi I'm parked 2 trucks away with a truck with a Camara and he put a shirt over it. He doesn't like it, he doesn't want it to record him changing. Or playing with his johnson bar

Even covering the lens, it still captures audio, so they can listen in on private conversations at will.

A driver facing camera only has ONE purpose, and that is to catch the driver doing something they don't approve of.
    And what might that be?
It could be as simple as changing a channel on a radio, or to see if the driver glanced at a mirror at exactly the wrong time, or any number of things.
Eating a hot dog while driving because the rules are so restrictive that I can't plan my day as I choose, perhaps?

What if the driver does not have a tablet to watch the video with the safety guy?
I don't. I don't even have a smart phone, mine is a plain 'ol dumb phone.

And can you tell me, with absolute certainty, that the video can not be downloaded at will by anyone that has access to the right program?
A small 8GB memory built into the camera will record hours of video, and it only costs 5 bucks.
Be very careful how you answer this one.
I was a computer tech for nearly 15 years, and I had a Wi-Fi enabled dash cam.

Yes I work for a mega, Swift. Obviously you do not. I'm not quite sure why I'm a whiner for posting the obvious repetitiveness of yet another camera thread (now 3) but hey whatever. Please enlighten me.

    You're not.

Some people just like to spout S^%.*$96@#$

I imagine, when these driver facing cams are more in force, there will be many more new threads created about them.

    Kindle Thanks this.
