Around here it varys anywhere from 65 to 90 an hour depending on if its dirt work, asphalt & milling or gravel hauling (which sometimes is percentage rate). All of the local coal work is percentage. What kind of dump truck do you have, Steel or alluminum?

Masshole, thats a nice rate you were getting, weird anyone would hire a rolloff to haul fill dirt, I know my empty weight in my rolloff (tri-axle) with a 40yd box is 39,500 and 37,800 with a 30 yd, that's only netting you around 15-17 tons legally here in PA. When I ran an alluminum body I could legally haul 23 tons net, seems to make more sense in running dumps to haul that fill.

Ya my truck with a 30yd can is 35000. Thats without a tag also. The job was tight, only enough room for some small bobcats. Unfortunate for them the bobcats are to small to load the tri-axle dump so thats why they were using the cans since i could just place them down and they could fill them up.

The construction company I just left in upstate NY paid $80 an hour for tri-axel dumps and they loaded you heavy...

Can't blame you there, if my hours were cut to 8 hours a day I would be flat beddin' and out of this roll off.

yeah, if NY ever opens up the drilling there will be more work than we have drivers for and the oil companies pay a lot more than the local construction outfits..

Yeah been there done that, all that oil and gas work is too unorganized for me. They have NO routine at all, both companies I did work for, one hauling flatbed freight and the other hauling water it was always work 100 hours one week then work 20 hours the next. My bosses would call me when they needed me, all hours of the day and night, send me away on a whim with no warning...No thank you not for Logan. I like my gig I have now, 10 hours a day 6 days a week gauranteed, now some days I may work even more than 10 hours but never less, and im home every night and live 3 miles from work.
