Try hauling propane. The hose connections will freeze up in a second. No torch, just a bigger hammer!

hehehe...that will sure wake you up, kinda like while you are loading at the rack and everything is kinda quiet ( other than normal pump noises ) and all of a sudden the guy at the next rack slams the door on his cam box closed....get that 3 second pucker going.

I started at the Augusta Terminal about 6 weeks ago. so far so good. right now is the slow season around here but it picks up greatly in about 3 to 5 more weeks.

I have no complaints. Good ppl and decent pay for starting out. One of the easier ones to work for so im told.

Do not use hoses that "frost up" while uploading propane. It indicates they are leaking slowly through the wire mesh. Years ago I knew I had a hose in poor condition and requested a replacement from head office. (Vancouver) I was an O/O pulling their trains. They keep telling me they were having problems getting them as few companies built certified propane hoses. Sure enough one day I was unloading at Mackenzie ICG bulk (they were called that before Superior bought them out) and a hose blew just I was finishing. (highest pressure - tank getting full) I had the old slide in jack shaft PTO. Since I was standing outside I quickly turned my truck off. Grabbed the emergency shutoff handle for the internals. A pulley broke loose from where it was attached, and it was use less. I waded into the cloud of gas and turned the big wheel valve closed by hand. When it all got shut down the whole yard was a big cloud of gas. Only then did I realize just how scary it had been. I just reacted. Glad nothing sparked as I would not be able to tell the story.

I think you can get it once you start, but with all honestly get that before you get hired.

    http://www.dds.ga.gov/docs/forms/CDL_Drivers_Manual_4_17_09.pdf

study up on hazmat and tank sections.

then go here and pre register on website then go get finger printed.

    https://hazprints.tsa.dhs.gov/Public/

then you go test out at DDS.

I'm not sure if they will help ($$$) wise to get your X endorsement. I really don't know, I just know if they want you to get a TWIC card they will pay for it. Not all area need it. (we don't use it at the N. Augusta racks)

Also its best to go to the terminal and apply rather then online. I know they are accepting apps. But not 100% on if they are hiring right now cause its the slow season for another month.
