Good! My carrier steals mine through cheap fuel so he can subsidize road loads. He steals about $600 a week in FSC from me.
Good info though, I'll bet my shippers would be pissed if they knew what my carrier was doing.....

Will tanker companies hire with no tanker experience but 14 years OTR? Could I get some leads in the DFW area?

United Petroleum Transport. They hire anyone with a clean record and min 2 years commercial. They will treat you like a piece of meat/steering wheel monkey but after a year (if you dont mess up too often) you will be able to go to a good company.
Essentially they are a training ground.monkeypuncher Thanks this. -
Back to the wage issue.
In Phoenix AZ most fuel haulers with 5+ years experience earn between $16-$22 per hour based on load pay. Obviously wait time and traffic etc. play a factor. Here we have more and more suppliers switching to Cal-Jet for their product, which means more trucks waiting in line at the rack for an hour or more. It seems to be making the average pay go down closer to the $17 per hour range for most.
Here is the real kicker, there are highway projects going on all over Arizona, dirt haulers are advertising for $15 per hour for hauling DIRT!!! I haul 8500 gallons of explosive fuel with the risk and liability of a cross drop or spill (or worse) for about the same money as someone who risks dropping some dirt on the wrong jobsite... -

I haul hazardous wastes. I'm paid on percentage of load. It's hard to say a daily average, but I can give an example. I picked up a load in Mauldin, SC, drive it to Mobile, AL, then deadheaded back to Mauldin. About 16 round trip driving hours, a 10 hour break. It paid me in the 460ish range. Not my highest paying run, but it's not bad.
Should add the tank was preloaded and I'll be sleeping at home after the trip.
