Looking for a local company that hires drivers out of school
Hi
Does any one know of any companies (tankers perferable) that hire local drivers? I am located in Cookeville TN which is between Knoxville and Nashville. Thanks

That all depends on what you want to haul. It looks like Texas is the place to be for local oil field work. But I believe you would have a hard time finding local work where you are at if you went towards the gasoline side. The only way you are going to find out is go out to the companies in person and ask.

Running local you would have to drive to the terminal everyday. Kind of a long commute?
There's that HT Hackney food distribution about 45 minutes east of you right off I-40 in Lenoir City.
That's a decent paying local job for a young driver.

To haul fuel, is it best to have experience otr with a dry van?Or try to get some tanker experience. I`m finishing up driver school and i want to haul gas, but it seems impossible with no experience.
