Tips for the Mountains?

I'm sure it will be just under the legal limit, it doesn't say in my paperwork what I'm hauling back. My dad works for Liquid Transport and said the stuff he picks up from there is VERY liquidy, not thick at all.

Better to descend too slowly every time than too fast once.

Be the slowest truck on the mountain.
And stay off the brakes,choose the right gear and let the Jake do the work.

With a smooth bore tank,i wouldn't try the red bit.
Or you might be in for a very unenjoyable ride.(might even be seasick in the mountains,lol)

use your transmission to help maintain your speed and use your jake and the less brake you use the better off you'll be in the long run. Also when going up grade is leave yourself 2 to 3 thousand rpm to accelerate do not max out your \rpm.

Yeah, I just let her run on in 9th with the jake on, eased on through there around 50mph

Give yourself lots of space and use the decline as a means to help you on the sure to be coming up incline. Some tractors don't have enough stack to climb at around 80,000 lbs. Trust me when I say you're going to want the momentum behind you. The surge in a smooth bore isn't going to be overwhelming, even with a liquid that's thin. Be responsible and respect your surroundings. If you made it this far, let your gut guide you and don't take chances.

thats the really only problem with mountains I have I want to sight see more than drive lol
