Good luck to you, I know a handful of people there and all of them really like it.

Your referring to the Point Comfort terminal which is no more. It was there to cater to a dedicated customer but we lost or gave up the contract and the only driver left is running out of highlands.

Mine showed 66 and 64 but maybe the gauge was off by 1.

As of last week all Baton Rouge drivers and O/O's are E-log. They put me on e-log 2 months ago and I regret not doing it from the start. Dispatch usually does a better job planning with access to your hours available but there still is room for improvement. In the end my net income has averaged 120 a week more since the E-log was put in my truck. So one can say in this case I'm Happy, Happy, Happy. But there are numerous other complaints that I can talk about but the new head honcho's are all former driver mill exec's so complaints only circulate amongst us sheep.

I'll give u some pointers that hopefully will help. Do u need to go home often? That has a huge impact on the money to be made here. I'm making good money but at a substantial sacrifice to my family. Every time I want to go home I start getting garbage loads to get me there or I miss out on great loads because that will put me to far from home for a deadhead and that is my biggest complaints. They'll DH me from Hampton, NH to Baton Rouge to pick up a load but lord forbid them DH'ing me from Nashville to Mobile(home) it's too far so we have a Decatur preload to Montgomery for ya. That would tie me up a whole day for only a small amount of pay. Again the potential for great money is there but they don't care about your time away from home and if its beneficial for you they are big business and operate as such so don't be afraid to say that load isn't worth my time what else do u have. They'll give u the well that's all I've got excuse that's when u stand up to them and say hire a local for that and send me somewhere that needs my hours. Don't get me wrong, when my hours are low I like doing local stuff but u will get the shaft compared to a driver assigned to that terminal. He'll get a 20 mile load that takes no time and u get the 100 mile load that pays the same and it's a split, meaning u load from 2 rail cars requiring u to load pickup all ur hoses and equipment scale out and reweigh then proceed to the next car to finish ur load. In Morris that can take 4 hours because of the line at the scale and u won't be paid detention at any rail yard operated by A&R.

I've never been to ft worth so I know nothing about that. Highlands though has some awesome loads but of ur company then once ur out your in the system and may not return until u go home. Unless ur going to live close by the terminal ask if u can take the truck home. Most terminals require u to park at the yard. Also this jub is very hot and sweaty. Unloading not so bad but vac loading can test sweat glands. Most shippers around highlands do not allow u on top of the trailer so that can test ur skills if your trailer doesn't have a front full line. And most don't. I'd say call me but I'd like to keep the conversation public for all to read and learn from.

I'm single so home time is not that important, 2, 3 weeks out is fine with me. I will be splitting home time between California and San Antonio, tx.Are you saying if your a company driver you can't take truck home ?? I live 250 miles from their terminals and I won't drive my car back n forth thats for sure !! Are you an o/o or company ??
