Does anybody driver for CTL specially out of the Savannah, GA (Port Wentworth terminal)? I notice their (CTL) tanker drivers and (CT) flatbed drivers on the local roads here all the time. A CT recruiter came to my school a few months ago but I wasn't interested in flatbeds. However, I am seriously considering tankers.
I've heard that they run automatics and have local, regional, and OTR. Are regional and OTR routes driven in those trucks with the short roofs?
I will be contacting them soon hoping they take recent grads.

i work for CTL out of Sterlington,La. I don't know what all they have out of Savannah but overall I have been happy with them. We just recently got a raise on the mileage pay to .42 loaded and .34 mt on system loads. Spome of the dedicated rts. pay a base rate loded and mt. Base pay is .285 starting out. all their trks are midroof to keep the height low for getting under loading racks. You will go out with trainer for 2-4 weeks and you will do all the driving while the trainers observes from the passenger seat. You will stay in a motel at night and the trainer sleeps in the truck. I've been with them for about 18 months and made around $47,000 last year and was only gone OTR 250 days.

Does the company pay for the room or is that on you?

I told here I want to make sure I have all my stuff ready before I goto orientation, she said ok.
Are there any other pointers you can give me starting out as a New driver with CTL? I will be starting OTR for 7-10 days out probably for the first 6 months (Once I get my own truck), then try to get 2 weeks out for the better pay scale.
Pros?
Cons?
Thanks -
Do they hire cdl graduates? With no experience ?

If you don't mind running you should be good.I am usually only out about 2 weeks at a time then let them know to get me home. You can stay out as long as you want. If you do a 34hr.reset on the road they pay $100 for it. Good luck and maybe I'll see you on the road.Sillen Thanks this. -

I've been researching the company but it seems they have a CDL training program. I've tried a cdl school but wasn't enjoying my experience. I really want to run tankers instead of van. I know this is an older thread. Lol any info would be appreciated
