I've been seeing their ad's in papers in my area (DE) for "local/regional" tanker drivers. Does anyone know anything about them? They are currently running Freightliner Cascadias very light blue in color.
reynolds nationwide???

I worked for them here in Texas. I only lasted three months because I could not deal with how they ran me, wanting me to run illegal but logging it to look legal. I took alot of grief because I logged it like it was done, illegal or not.

I've talked to many of their former drivers, and none of them have had a good word to say about that company. I went in to talk to them about a job years ago, and they offered me 3 cpm less than I made at my first job.

The fluctuations in miles tend to be bigger than with other types of freight, low CPM, lots of waiting, and health insurance that's usually expensive and not that great. Welcome to food grade tankers.

If you're single, no kids and not many bills (such as myself) then you can do ok. If you have a lot more on your plate than that, it is NOT going to be for you. Trust me. Never worked for Reynolds, but I did work for one of their larger competitors for 7 years. Why did I stick with it for so long? My miles were good most of the time, if you had an appt you had appt days instead of appt times which usually meant you could run at a relaxed pace with no problem at all without losing out on any miles, and if you had to load or unload yourself, all you had to do was hook up a hose and turn on a pump. Doesn't get much easier in trucking than that.

i have to say, i got suckered into this company. they advertised $.40 per mile, 2500-3000 miles a week. i was shocked when i got my check and it read $.24 empty miles/ $.28 loaded miles. they have pretty decent equipment, good facilities. some trucks run 70 cruise off and others cruise has to be on to run 70. trucks take a long time to get up to speed and lack power on hills. from what i heard, they are geared different in order to keep them quiet because the owner lives right next to the yard, and he is pretty anal.

If they're the same guys that are also hauling crude down around Tilden TX, then be prepared to run a lot of hours. Just talked to one of their crude guys last week and he averaged about 6 runs a day, and waaay over 11/14. He says because he was local it didn't matter, but I dunno about that. Anyway, sounds like a lot of driving to make good money. There's better stuff out there.

Don't let me scare you off. This is what I heard from just one driver. The guy could have been completely FOS for all I know. You probably need to check for yourself.
