Any info on Dolese Bros. Co out of Oklahoma? I'm applying for a driving job with them Monday if there really is an open driving position.

I've never driven or worked for Dolese, but can tell you they've been around since the beginning of time. I've been in the concrete industry most of my life, my father used Dolese Redi-Mix deliveries going back into the 1940's up north in Chicago, where they began. Then they expanded primarily to OK and Louisiana. Other states also.
It's always been a solid stable company last I heard. I believe they start their drivers anywhere from $15 to near $18 an hour, as it varies by location.

I'm pretty sure it's still 14 hours, but someone in my company came up with 12 somehow so that's what we go by. It's not enforced by anyone at the company, but you have the choice to leave after 12 and no one can say anything. I will usually run 14 but I try not to go over that. Its easier for us to get away with running over hours though, because DOT would have to go the the plant and pull your time card to verify your hours.

But we're the only ready mix company around here that actually pays attention to HOS. The rest work till they're done. "Don't like it? Walk out the gate."

You will work up to 15 hrs. Per day with 8 hours between shifts when busy and you will run paper logs which is a real pain because of the super short mixer runs. We have to log because we are local but we run over 12 hrs a shift. I worked for Transit Mix then FIX in Austin TX for 10 yrs. The hours are brutal but the money was good, 60K+ per year potential.

    T X I not FIX
