I would like to try one, but don't foresee that happening in MN anytime soon!

very well put! I agree with everything you said, I haul fuel myself. It is all repetition, it can seem like the easiest job in the world because of that...but that's when you screw up

One more thing that hasn't been mentioned is when your loading, do not get caught up in conversation with the other drivers. Some guys like to run their gums under the rack, and to me, loading involves intense concentration.
You must pay attention to every detail, and watch the meters and loading arms for any issues. When im under the rack, I like to focus on the job at hand, and not nonsensical gibberish with other drivers.

After hauling milk for the past, coming up on three years, this thread has taught me one thing.
The difference between fluids ending up on the ground results in different consequences.

A splash of milk to the ground is a simple spray away in most cases and don't let it happen again.
A splash of fuel on the ground I would imagine is much more severe.

In any case, margin for error in this hauling has to be brought under control and mitigated well before one decides to head this route.
If there's any job that will keep you on your toes and alert, I would say it has to be in the fuel realm.

Looking forward to getting on whenever I get that call.
