this is a good question, i was under the impression its close to impossible to get on at a tanker company with less than 1 year exp (insurance reasons)........ but im probably wrong.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm actually hired on to a fleet out my area that wants me to do a Bulk tanker lime stone run from CT to NJ as many runs as possible paying percentage. I really would like to get onto something that's over the road, but like you said its looking like 1-3 years is the minimum requirement which sucks because I only have 5 like a previously stated....

Superior Carriers has a terminal in Springfield, MA. You might have luck with them.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I have contacted them in that past. Turns out there's two way's to enter the company. One was is to come in as a complete green horn like other's but I didn't like what they were laying down. He said basically I would have to train with two separate trainers before coming aboard, and at least one would have to "Recommend" me to them as a good person to hire. Sounds like there could be room for not getting a job. The other was 18 months of experience required to not enter as an "Entry Level Driver."

    Another one is SVTN.
Now you have 4 to choose from:

    SVTN
    Superior Carriers
    CTL Transportation
    Schneider Bulk

Sure, Superior Carriers is picky and you must jump through the hoops, but look at the big picture and you will see it's worth it.

Chinatown is right on. They are picky because they can be, and quite honestly need to be. An accident involving a spill is very costly. It's not bad getting through training though. If I was able to do it, anyone can.
