Hey guys, I want to find a job hauling either fuel or cryogenic pulling tanker, and does anyone know why some are strict with their hiring? I have a clean mvr with no accidents and over two years experience but not with tanker but when I apply with most of those companies, they either want 3yrs experience or 2 yrs tanker. I have all the the endorsements required and hold a twic card.

It's just the luck of the draw. Some drivers get fuel hauling jobs right out of CDL school. Switch to a OTR tanker company now and it will look better when you apply for local tanker work. It changes their outlook when they see you're already pulling tankers.

    What is your city/state?

I think Foodliner now hires with one yr. and before it was 2 yrs. experience. It's food grade though, but still tanker. Blachowske Truck Line is running ads in the Southeast.

Depending on where you live, Florida Rock & Tank or Sherman Bros. might hire you.

Check all these websites for the companies I mentioned.

Companies are having a very hard time hiring people with good credentials and a squeaky clean background so if you say you've got a clean MVR etc, then it's a matter of plugging away til something comes up. Not everyone wants to haul hazmat, and not all can qualify.
Companies are desperate to hire good drivers. Eventually you will hit pay dirt.
    Good luck

Insurance companies have the final say on hiring practices, but if Cryo and fuel is all your interested in(and assuming you are somewhere in the U.S.A.) talk to Keenan-Advantage (KAG). By the way(this is for EVERYONE) most of us drivers are waaaay too lazy to cyber-stalk anyone, so it would be EXTEMELY helpful if you would at least give us hint to what country you are in when you are asking questions like this. Notice my avatar, has my location right on it, wanna know why? I'm to lazy to answer the "where are you" question.

You can try Eagle Transport Corporation if you want. You have to be 23 years old, they require 2 years tractor-trailer experience, no more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years. All the proper endorsements, tanker experience a plus (and they pay for experience) but it is not required, they will train. Click in my name and look under pictures, I have some photos of the Charlotte terminal and equipment. Stay chilly!

Thanks, I would still look at KAG if you have narrowed your selection to fuel and Cryo. They do both, if you don't like one you can always try the other.

I saw a tanker driver almost tip over in Boston taking a left turn. He had it on two wheels.
