Hey guys, long story short.. I'm looking into flash oil company in my area and wanted to know if anyone has any info on them. Mainly is it pay by the mile or hour, how long are their shifts, do they get holidays off and 2 days off a week or is it just 1 day a week? That sort of information! Thanks.

I have heard they WERE one of the worst as far as safety. Not sure now. I talked to one guy that has been there 18 years, so there must be something worth while. Where your at there is a company that home office is closer by where you are.
I would say most are by the load. Dupre and pilot are hourly

If you are not carded at any racks that is the hardest thing to get.
Not all it's made out to be around here, for so long so much undercutting a guy can hardly make it.

I drove for Flash Oil Company for 12 months. They are hands down, the worst company I have ever worked for. I was supposed to work from 3pm till 3am 5 night a week, with weekends off. Instead, they worked both me and my day driver, 14-16 hours each. We were required to use the 16 hour exception once every week. There is no way to keep a truck on a consistent schedule when both drivers work that many hours. Each day I would get in the truck 4-6 hours later that the day before. By the weekend, I was working day shift. They continually dispatch 16-18 hours worth of work on you every day, and you have to fight with them to take something off to get you back in 14 hrs. They tell you to run it anyway, log out and keep driving (e-logs). It is you who goes to jail if involved in a serious accident, not them. You will work every holiday, if it is your regular day to work, although they do pay an extra $150 holiday pay, but only if you work. They constantly pressure you into unsafe, illegal situations on a daily basis. I finally got out of there 3 months ago. I still talk to many of their drivers, and all that I know, are looking for something else. If you are still considering working for them, I urge you to go to the rack in Bono, and talk with 5 or 6 of their drivers. I have heard Dupree is a good company, and pays well. Their are others as well if you want to be a gas hauler. Best of luck to you.

Do yourself a favor and run don't walk from this organization. The drivers statement above is correct. They will expect you to run 14 to 16 Hours a day and don't care if its over your hours. I worked with this company for 7 months and it was the worst managed company I have been affiliated with. The owner is a great guy but his dispatchers are the reason this company will not succeed. Its just a matter of time before this company hits rock bottom due to their negligence of adhering to Federal and State Department of Transportation Guidelines. So sad to see such STUPIDITY in one place.

Another gas hauling company to stay away from is STAR transportation out of Jonesboro, Ar. Loading to scully is encouraged and paid just a few dollars more. Equipment is not kept up to DOT standards, management only cares about putting gas in the ground.
