What are a few good Tanker companies located in and around the Chicagoland area that will invest in new CDL graduates?

Few? Not likely only one I think would be Schneider, not sure if Superior has a terminal near Chicago

Superior requires one year but they have a terminal in Markham. Go in and apply. They might give you a shot. Very nice people there.
-
Have you already attended school? Superior only hires from schools approved by the terminal. Not sure which ones those would be, you could call Markham and ask.

Schneider Bulk
Superior Carriers
Tidewater Transit
CTL Transportation
Trimac
Ignore experience required and apply anyway. Do the online application and follow up with a phone call in a couple days.harlycharly55 Thanks this. -
Schneider will definitely take you if you can't get in with anyone else. Not a bad place to start at all.

Thanks for the short list. I'll start the investigation. I hear good and bad about Schneider, so I think they might be last on my list. I've called Trimac they do require 1 year Tractor Trailer (any Tractor Trailer) experience but will waive that if you went to a prefered driver training school (listed on their website) or to a PTDI certified school. I might call one more time to see if I can get a different person nad maybe talk my way into an interview. Trimac has one run in the Chicagoland area for new CDL grads. It is in Portgage, IN. It's dry bulk, then they will let you do something else.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
They're all good; Schneider Bulk is good also.
Trimac has an "elite fleet" that you may qualify for after gaining some experience. Those drivers can make $80K+. -
Thanks all for the comments and input. I do appreciate it. I don't want to make this a Thread about Schneider but what's with Schneider's "bad rap". Talking to the newbies around the training facility, nobody like them but they can't specifically say why. Doesn't make sense. I'm sure there is good and bad stuff about them. Any tid bits of information about Schneider. By the way, I'm interviewing Schneider next week about a tanker position.
