I am trying to figure out how much more weight an aluminum bed will carry over a steel bed. I need the empty weight of a FLD1264sd with a 16' length 60" side and a 21' 10" bridge made of Hardox Steel Ox. And is the Steel Ox double wall.
Thanks

I think the reason you have no replies is that no one understands your question, including me! I can tell you that no one can give you an accurate estimated weight on a tractor w/o knowing its' specs ---model year, engine, transmission, frame, type of wheels, hubs, fuel tanks, drive lines, rear ends, kind of emissions equipment and a lot more. Any answer you get to a question that does not give that info isn't even an educated guess and is likely to be off by thousands of pounds. Generally speaking, Freightliners are as light or lighter than other, comparable trucks.

OP i am going to ASSUME you already have this shaker? if you do take your existeing trailer(assuming you have said flatbed) scale it. take new trailer to cat scale(i think most new trailers sales peoples will let yo do it) and subtract the difference.
IE truck/steel flatbed with 1/2 fuel=20k lbs
truck /alum flatbet with 1/2 fuel=17k lbs you can now haul an extra 3k lbs of cargo
make SURE they are boht the same length -
You can't just fill your tanks then go to a scale and weigh it?
