I'm looking for tanker companies that are based in or have terminals in the Northeast. Im in NJ and have looked into Schneider, Prime, and Superior and

was looking for a few more to check out. I saw Island Transport today and a few yellow tractors pulling tanks but I couldn't make out the name on truck.

Anyone know what company that is ? Thanks

Trimac Transportation - they do hire new CDL grads even if the website has different.

Island Transportation used to have the reputation that if you were breathing with the proper license, you had a job. When I first came off the truck I dispatched for them out of West Babylon. I have dropped quite a few loads of gas "over the phone" because they had an untrained rookie out there on the road.

Yeah they are also known by Alterative Fuels! Yellow Macks, they have a Blue gas handle logo on the door. I worked for Island Transport last year for 9 months. I enjoyed the work, but not the company! The night dispatcher has an attitude and likes to play God! I no longer haul gas, but I did look into Prospect. They look like a decent outfit, based out of NJ. I didn't want to take a day off and travel from Eastern LI just to fill out an app. Oh well, my loss I guess?
