As the title implies I am currently considering work for either of the above companies. I have been driving OTR with USA for 3 months now, but I really want to get into tankers and also have a little more home time as well as more money once I gain a year or two of tanker experience . I applied for both companies and expect I'll be hearing from them soon. Both offering entry level regional tanker work for my area. I would love to hear from a few veterans or maybe current and previous employees of which I should work for and opinions on both companies.
Also one more question for you veteran tankers: Are tanker routes generally more truck friendly? Specifically in the southeast TX regional area? Do you usually have more room to play with on deliveries?
The thing I hate most about OTR dry van is super tight inner city driving. Especially in the new England area.
All feedback is appreciated thanks !

I don't know if you have a Trimac terminal near you but Trimac is a extremely good company to get into.

I work for Trimac, trust me you want to try and get on if you can. Best money I have ever made by far.
scythe08 and Time4Change Thank this. -
As far as inner city driving, a tank isn't any different than a van or flatbed. You go where the load is needed. And most delivery times are set up so when you get there, the consignee has room in their tanks for the prioduct and haven't run out yet. Lot of times you can get there early and they will take it but don't be late. -
Also I hear people say groendyke is a good company to start with. But upon looking at their site they want 2 years experience

Yup, as long as you graduate from a PTDI school they will take you. Only local, apparently they won't take students over the road just yet.

Well I think I'm going to go with Schneider bulk. Additional $1000 a month from GI benefits for my first YEAR of employment. Can't beat that. Unless of course trimac calls me
