might be hard to guesstamate just looking at it. If he is close then why not visit him and see if he can take you to a scale close around to weight it.

You are wasting your time trying to guess a weight, nobbody can. The only thing to do is park in on a set of scales and weigh it. Do not trust a salesman to do it, he is trying to make a sale, and could possibly use a set of scales that were not accurate (?), and tell you a fib.

Flotation tires on front would be the first thing I look at. They are so much better to drive than the " skinny " tires.

I had 20.8T on my dump trailer today and weighed in 69,680lbs. I cannot imagine grossing 77k on a straight truck with one floater axel. Every once in a while......maybe, but all day every day....no way!

The Kenworth looks to be spec'd with the Mack, axel wise. Typical size bed. This one is steel and the other was aluminum. Steel makes the truck more versatile but aluminum with a liner is the smack daddy for strictly aggregate.

If I was buying a truck, I'd call the salesman and tell him to get me the Tare Weight. If he wouldn't get it scaled to sell that truck at about $130,000 or so I would guess he could go number 1 into a strong headwind!

I think it's going to be hard to find a truck that light that's properly rigged to gross 70k. I have a regular tandem single frame and 40k rears that weighs 23k. A double frame and heavy axles needed for what you want to do is going to add a lot of weight.
