Is this a statement or a question?

Around here tri-axle up(even around a sharp corner) with a load means no overwieght permit= big overwieght ticket.
I've dragged one around a lot of corners... Just take it easy. In a customer parking lot... Pick it up.uhjohnson Thanks this. -
What can be damaged and how does it happen
-
Can pop tires if it's a non-steerable axle and you're heavy or turning too fast. We use straight trucks here with 2 or 3 drops (all steerable) and typically pick up the tag (behind the drive axles) in tight or off-camber turns. Haven't gotten an overweight in either NY/PA or OH for doing so, though I am sure the possibility exists. Mostly our difficult turns are far enough off the beaten path that you don't come across many LEO's looking for quotas though.
-
So if you get caught lifting your axle with a load on the highway to make a turn easier and safer and the LEO sees the infraction will he ticket you for being overweight
-
Some states will..... In NY is illegal to have a switch to lift the axle " within the reach of the driver". And a lift axle has to be steerable on new trucks/trailers. But a non lift tri- axle doesn't ..... Go figure !

mpd240 Thanks this.

This isn't entirely correct. You can have the switch in the cab to lift the axle. Its the valve to adjust the air pressure in the lift axle that has to be outside the cab. Anything 2005 and newer in NY has to be a steerable. They were going to require all trucks and trailers with lift axles to be steerable by the expiration of your overweight permit in 2015. They have extended that deadline to 2020.
Cat sdp Thanks this. -
Is the part about a solid tri-axle on a trailer correct ?
