Anyone skilled in this with a quad fixed axle pup please elaborate,
Ive backed these on a tipping floor at a hazmat rail transfer
station, bit tight in there and limited lighting, so required
some skill, but now I'm up for this heavy highway gig
Varying site conditions, traffic and all the usual bull
Questions I can think of off the bat:
Is a complete right angle jackknife necessary or ok to dump
atleast somewhat over the tongue?
Do you normally get the truck load dumped right in front of pup
pile or next to usually good enough?
So I shorten up the tongue when driving on road or only when
required to make easier maneuvering at job sites?
I know you watch for the tailgate strike on the tongue from the truck box when
pulling up after dumping, this is a given on all sets pretty much?
Air bag drop when dumping I'm aware of but is this mandatory then?
Any other tips or anything please elaborate, product is aggregate
mostly.
Asking all this as if looking from a rookies perspective
even though have other heavy haul exp equal to
a mighty fair bit, includes lowboy, end dump, tanker etc...
If I've left out any other considerations, feel mighty free to elaborate there,
I have less than a yr exp on this particular operation, going to one
location, dumping on a concrete floor does not make one totally prepared.
TIA ALL
