Sorry for starting a new thread but I can't
add new pictures to the first thread. Here they are. Is the bottom of the tank supposed to have a female fitting for draining and is all the heliarching fixing a leak and is the delivery of diesel in this fashion the result of a inoperable fuel pump

That's scary. You have a fuel line running over the exhaust like that? I would park it.

First of all, are you absolutely SURE that it is a fuel tank? That looks like somebody had converted it to a hydraulic tank....but that has got to be one of the UGLIEST weld's I've ever seen, so apparently it was a DIY project. If that hose returns to the same tank it came out of, just remove the hose and get some plugs to thread into the holes and the problem is solved. Check to make sure what is IN the tank...if it still contains hydraulic oil, you can probably drain it and cut your empty weight by a couple hundred pounds. If there is fuel in the tank, make sure there are fuel lines running from the tank connecting it to the rest of the fuel system. If that hose that returns to the same tank it came out of is the only one attached, adding fuel to that tank isn't doing anything for you but increasing your empty weight.

    uhjohnson Thanks this.

Just saw your other thread...with a pic showing what looks to be a dump bed on the chassis. You can re-route that line (or have a new line made that is a more appropriate length) to get that up off the ground a little better...otherwise, it could end badly if you hook it on something making your way around a job site.

    uhjohnson Thanks this.
