Just a quick question about local pay for you fuel haulers in the eastern Tennessee area,
Place I live has a company that pays 16.00 an hr 24.00 after 40 for 5 days a week work.
I have no tanker experience but do have the endorsements and hazmat, my question is I live in east tennessee and wanted to get an idea of the going rate any of you fuel haulers are making in this area..I would be starting out in the field and don't expect to be paid top $$ out of the gate.
I guess the question is do you think that pay is FAIR for starting out local fuel hauling? I haul OTR dry van now and I am looking at other options, Benefits are of no concern a fair wage is.
The company I am considering is Conestoga out of Knoxville TN
Thanks in advance

$16 an Hr for fuel hauling ? Nope i wouldn't do it, Minimum $20 and i would think about it. But then again it's all about the cost of living.

Actually for a driver with no experience pulling a tank $16 start pay is fair. I haul fuel in south east texas and thats about what u would get here. You need to get pay raise info. A .25 cent raise twice a year is average. I have 15 years experience...my pay is $21.50 per hour. -
Tell you how it was with Wilco several years ago. They only paid something like $12.00 per hour, but each load paid so many hours. For example, we had a load that we could do in 3 hours, no problem, but it paid 4 3/4 hrs. . I did a 4 day work week and off 3 and made around $900.00 per week and we are talking abut 10 years ago. One of the better jobs that I have had.
