These guys are set up high on my list. I really would like to do day cab it seems like you've run both regional and day cab. Can you give me some insight on what the day consists of on regional and day cab? They really get you home every weekend? And finally on day cab what's the pay by the load or hourly?

Worst part for me being in a day cab was living half an hour from the shop, and I was on roll off so when there was no roll off work I would float over to tanker, walking floor, dump trailer or whatever they needed me on, so playing musical trucks and trailers every night after a 13 hour day was a pain in the ###. Day cab I was doing $230-$260 a day, some loads are less some are more. Sleeper is a bit more money and I park at my house. Every once in a while, or if I get greedy I'll leave on a Sunday night or work a Saturday but for the most part it's Monday to Friday for sleeper (not saying you won't work a Saturday but it's not the norm) and every other Saturday for day cab,

yes its a lot of work and it's not for everyone, I'm single with not kids, my last job was $20 an hr with OT after 40, was only getting 45-50 hours a week and was running nights, got a second job during the day and I still take home more now then I did then

    Ruthless Thanks this.

What's the labor like? Never did or have seen anything your talking about with roll offs walking floor and what not.

I think hunk my biggest problem is my experience I'll only have 1 year and 4 months but my last ticket on my MVR was in 2011( personal vehicle). No cdl citations.

You have to shovel and sweep out your trailer, remove the bows for the tarp, some loads you may have to spray and plastic line the trailer

Doesn't sound that bad. Is it a lot of climbing and if so what do you use?

ya you climb in and out of the trailer over the sides . I had a load of fine graded metal that froze to the trailer and had to shovel and climb in and out of the trailer 5 times before It all freed up its a pain in the ### im still in good shape and its still hard and you don't get paid for all that its in your % pay so ya and if you get a load of dirt that freezes u can be shoveling for hours and the $ is not great for all the hours you have to put in
