I have been running for an owner op at swift the past 4 years . He had some bad luck and I'm pretty sure he is going under. I've been running van and reefer the last 4 years otr. I've decided to look into making a change to running tankers . I called a company called trimac . But they told me they are only hiring peo o let with experience on tankers right now. Can anyone else give me some ideas on a company to go with? Also how do you all like running a tanker ? Do you enjoy it? I called schnider today and left them a message to get back to me also.

A&R Transport is a good one. Their driver turnover is low, but you might luck out.
Tanker is great; easy money. Quick loads and unloads averaging an hour, then you're rolling again.

    Here's some more:

    Oakley Transport
    Indian River Transport

I pulled cold box for many years. Then 7 years ago I started pulling food grade tank. I fell in love with it. The trailer is shorter in length and height, and by being under 65 feet, you can take routes that 53's cant. The delivery and pick up times are mostly day times, and can have flexability. No lumpers, no chasing pallets, no touching anything. There are some companies that will ask you to pump on and off sometimes, but it's easy work. You should call Indian River. They have a yard in Turlock. You could try TJS out of Oakdale. Ruan. One thing you have to get used to is the surge in the tank. Food grade tanks have no baffles so the product sloshes around.

Been a tanker yanker for almost three years love it. Once you get the experience and a good reputation there is all kinds of good paying work to be had.
