Uh-Oh. OK, so now how do they handle it? Do they pump it out of the tank and ship it back to the refinery to be re-refined, or is it just totally "wasted product?" Guess it isn't hard to see how little I know about the fuel industry. . .

They have top ump and clean the tank and re-refine the mix. Takes a little time, insurance pays it and pays for time station is down.

It depends on the trucking company. If it's a one time deal, he may well keep his job but if it's a repeat, then he's gone.
Cross dropping as we used to call it, happens quite frequently but the driver should have known. The lid covers to diesel and gas are 2 different colors. -
Yea and it should say ulsd underneath, i imagine hes fired, its not like its a lightly used gas station

Depending on the % mixed I'd run it.

Wonder how low it was ? Most large truck stop's tanks will hold 3 to 4 tankers. Question if they just drop more diesel in on top and call it a day. Not sure what 25 to 33% gas would do???
