Ya somebody's making the cash. I've noticed that as well. Be nice if more companies would pass that on to drivers.

Takes a special kind of person to pick up and haul milk. You either love it or hate it. Farm background is a plus if you pick up. 50,000 a year would be possible here only if there were two of you on a double shift. 35 to 40 is possible if you work most all the time. Like 6 days a week . Thats in the southeast.

Hi plow boy, I'll say it takes a special person, especially someone that has no sense of smell.:biggrin_2559:

Ahhh cow @#$& love it!! I been hearing some guys are making the 50k doing it but this one company says 60-70k and I sure dont know how thats possible with picking up at a farm then sitting at a dairy thats alot of scratch. Their .36cpm and on elogs. I would think if 60-70k were the real deal everyone would be doing it right.

yeah "semi" , you know what I am talkin about. It helps to be a scale dodgin risk taker to boot. Old hands would load the wagon. 50,000 was a what they called about as much as you could tote in a "shirt tail " . Run like the devil when you get it loaded and watch your mirror when your within a few miles of the milk plant so you dont get passed on the home stretch. Ride what ever it would do down grade to get over the next hill. Boss told me one time that they run the computer and the ol truck had been up to 84 miles an hour. Told him that was a lie I had her up to 86 but the hood was shakin so bad I got skeered. He was really not prepared for that response. Had alot of fun and for the most part a good bunch of people to work with. Yeah milk haulers are cut off a different cloth.

One "bright star" in hauling milk, certainly not the pay, is that most of the dairies that you will deliver to are safe and secure places to get a nap in. I have come in hours before my appointment and never been turned away because I was early. Even after being unloaded, you can pull out of the way and take a break. The majority of the receivers are pretty good, there are a few "a--holes" but for the most part, they are nice to deal with. I could name a few "a--holes" but if you go hauling milk, you will find out who they are.

Around me, $100/load, CASH, 100mile runs. 2max a day. The 2 a day killed it for me.

its not super trucker money but i enjoy the hell out of my job and am home atleast every other night and get a day or two off a week.

I did about the same thing several years ago, I would pick up at one farm in a transport trailer and run about 600 miles to the dairy and go back empty. I did two trips then took one trip off. And I enjoyed it also. Dealt with some good people at the dairy I delivered to and they had a real nice break room with free coffee, free milk, free juice.

I made $400 for each trip and that came out to about 33cpm. Usually got loaded around 5am and had 24 hours to get to the dairy, just took my time and enjoyed the trip.

I ran a 800 mile run for about 3 years(1600 miles RT) and that paid $490 and 99% of the time, right back empty. This run was set up on a 3 and 1. 1st day to get there. 2nd day finish running to the dairy and then unload. Head back. Take another 10 hr. break and get home on the 3rd day and the 4th day off.
