Go to Wyoming, Utah, Nevada & California; they are everywhere...especially at night.
Although the Cali ones are almost always just 2 small pups. -
I have inherited a fleet of hot oil tankers that are doubles. Our sets have a longer lead and more tongue on the converter dolly to be able to get the bridge for the weight. In Wyoming we are allowed 117,000 on a standard 7 axle set but we can get up to 160,000 on 13 axle sets with a W permit as long as we don't get on an interstate. Doubles are illegal in Colorado except for on the interstate and then only on specified routes off to get to a yard.
