I currently pull pneumatic tanks on the right coast and am considering dropping my hat into the O/O world. Oakley seems to fit the bill but as we all know the bill of sale may not include the total cost of purchase. So can anyone give me a good feel for this company, it's real attitude, aptitude, and fidelity to its O/O's. I would really like to consider myself as a true partner in the success of a company regardless my position, so being called by my first name, and being taken care of (not coddled) is as important to me as the money is.

Thanks up front for those who take the time to provide useful, good or bad, information and or guidance.

They have a LOT of trucks setting at the TA in Wheeling W VA every time I pass through there, I would ask about that when talking to them, it might be hard to make payments if you are setting a lot.

I'm on the end dump side, but it looks like our tanks are doing good. I know I'm doing darn good where I'm at .

I can't tell you about the tranks but I can tell you how the company operates.

The tanks in Wheeling are frac sand haulers, the reason they're sitting is because of time off, not lack of work. They've been in the Marcellus for quite some time, and the few that I talked to were making good money and had no plans of leaving.

    Fire-Man and Taildragon Thank this.

Up until the first of the year all the Oakley trucks at wheeling were frac sand. Tanks made a little more than hoppers. Before it got slow my avg to the house was 5,500.00 running around 1000-1500 miles a week. Since then we've dropped off. Drop in oil prices brought a lot of trucks from Dakota, Texas, and Oklahoma.
The road tanks seem pretty happy. Not sure how they do though.

    Fire-Man Thanks this.

You might want to look at A&R Logistics as well. All the owner operators I talk to that drive for our company are really happy. We are always busy year round and you will never have to worry about sitting. I am currently a company driver at A&R and I am planning on becoming an owner operator in the next six months. We haul plastic pellets in self load pneumatic trailers
