How do you load your compartments? ( fuel tanker )

    Yup same with me I haven't crossed a scale in 23 years.8500 on gas and 7500 on oil.In the winter if the roads are icy I might load a little heavy on the drives but other than that it's pretty much cut and dry with me.

    Our trucks will allow 8800 gas and 7500 diesel for legal gross weight.

    Just the other day we had a store about to run out so I decided to load 9300 NL. Give the next guy setup to get there a little breathing room. The store I went to has a 16,000 gallon tank but they sell close to 10,000/day.


    If we do end up getting a ticket from dot, company pays it.

    Didn't you just love that MTBE. You guys up there was the first and you all change the world. You know that Williams picked up all of Vegas runs for ARCO. I was told because Williams was hauling for us in Reno and doing a good job. That's gotta make you feel good. Just about all of the ARCO drivers went over to Williams. They took a drop in pay , lost a couple of holidays, and other benefits. But they still had a job and Williams took them with ease and they were treated very fairly.

    Thankfully we don't have many gas stations..we have a couple of truck stops...but mostly mines where we pump off..and so far the tanks are low...are yoiu pulling a jumbo? Or a train?

    Oh boy!! Yeah I was one the the EU "Exclusive Use" backup drivers for Williams on the Arco account. Which means when the real EU driver was on his days off I'd jump in the seat and run them. When they had more than one shift at night there would be me and the EU driver taking care of the stations. Ya we had a very motivated boss who really took care of Arco. They were our number one priority over any other load we had. We had a #### good group of guys running the Arco shifts and putting them into the ground asap.

    sounds like when I worked at Fredrickson..back in the mid 90s..you were on standby everyday until about 6 at night..and were stuck at home all day waiting for the call.

    Yeah, worked for Williams in Vegas. We had all the Shell stations, all the Arco stations, and Chevron too. Plus we had all the Costco and Sams clubs. Then I worked the Martinez terminal where we had All the Arco, Shell, Costco, Sams clubs, and all the Quik Stops, plus ethanol and transmix. They kept us pretty busy. We had to be carded everywhere in the bay area including Fresno, Chico, Stockton, Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco. Good Times!

    It is so nice to go to the mines..no idiots trying to block you in..no idiots smoking walking up when your dumping gas..or as a couple of other postings..trying to hurt or kill you...and you just hook up the hoses and pump off the product...one in a while you get a split load but still in the same mine.and you weren't busting your cahones trying to get everything done. Ever think about coming back to the silver state? If you do look me up if you need a job.

    We had to wait and see if any driver called in sick. I know Jim over there at Fredrickson would send a driver right away when we did need one. I know just about all the time you guys took Bullhead and Kingman from us because we were just too busy in town. I was assigned the truck that could switch over to our little trailer so I did take a lot of Bullhead runs just to fill my shift. Those were the days.
