I need some helpful advise. I have an end dump trailer and the air suspension dump switch isn't working properly. It will only work properly when the truck is shut off completely, otherwise the thing is useless. I'm not sure how it was wired or where it draws power from. Any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks

I think there are two types of solenoids used to control the suspension exhausting. One is normally closed, the other is normally open. So my guess would be with the key on there is power going to the solenoid. I would start by taking a test light to the trailer cord. This will tell you if the switch is doing anything at all and what wire it is going to in the trailer. The solenoid looks like an oversized d cell battery it will have probably power and ground wires on it, also there will be an air line that goes to the trailer suspension. If the dump worked before then it could be a number of things. If this is a new combo I would it has the wrong solenoid.

I figured you that the Aux pin on my pigtail is somehow wired wrong. When the ignition is on, power is off. Ignition off, 12v supplied to trailer Aux. It's the damnedest thing!

Maybe the switch is wired backwards. I ran into that on my current truck.

check your ABS fuse on your tractor it should be a BIG 40 amp fuse in the dash. This aux power line should have power any time the key in on. This powers the ABS unit on your trailer and any other need's of power supply
