    One other question about both companies...how are the trucks equipped? APUs, inverters, idle policies etc

    Trucks are standard fleet spec: no inverter, no apu, idle all you want. In this winter weather I never shut my truck off for very long. If I'm at home and its going to be parked I just plug it in and hope nothing freezes up or if I'm lucky I can park it in the heated bays.

    Cabs are a bit small but you get used to them, not as big as the FTL Cascadia.

    Very few bulk companies have apu's as we already have lots of equipment on board and we pull heavy most of the time. Trimac has no idle policy, if you want to idle then do it. They will install a free inverter for you. Mine is a 2000 watt one, the truck will probably already have one in it but if it doesn't you just ask.

    Superior will let you have an inverter, you buy it and they'll put it in. I have a 2000watt that I need to have put in the truck I'm in.

    Thanks for all the info guys! I spoke with someone from Superior today..he was really freindly and actually took a half an hour to go over a lot of info about the company, training, benefits etc. I think i'm going to go with Superior when I get out...they seem like a great company and have a yard thats only 45 minutes from my house. Not saying that Trimac isn't just as good, but their closest terminal is about 3 hours from me. NC, what model truck do you have with Superior? Just want to get an idea of how small the sleeper is.

    Definitely ethos...if it was flatbed or van and I could park the truck at home it would be a different story, but if I'm going out for 3-4 weeks at a time and only going to be home for a few days, I'd rather be close

    I have also seen drivers have the shop take the passenger seat out for more room or for a full size dorm fridge or a stripper pole.

    Id go with the stripper pole if not for the quality of the strip joints around the truck stops...

    I'm driving one of the newer International ProStars. I would say the sleeper area of the cab is about 48" compared to 60+ in the Cascadia I had with SNBC. It has decent storage above the bunk and I keep my electro cooler on the passenger seat. Bags are between the seats and the bed. It's just enough room for what I want to have with me, but I do miss the storage and extra leg room the Cascadia had.

    From what I have heard the Macks are the same size but with less storage. The Peterbilts are few and far between but are nice if you get one.
