I work for Superior
So far ytd I'm averaging about 1300 a week gross. Thats with some downtime because of equipment and weather. You can make a lot depending on how you like to run and where you are located. Highest single week paycheck was $2060 and I feel like that wasn't an anomaly.
Pay is .50 loaded .40 empty, miles are pretty close to hub, accesory pay is good
The trucks are not the most reliable. Maxxforce engines in the Internationals are extremely problematic and theres been build quality issues from the factory. Company is switching over to all Macks and a few Petes, replacing about 10% this year (125 new Macks set for delivery this year). Tanks are in good condition and are well maintained from what I've seen.
I run a mix of otr, local, and regional out n back. I like to run a few weeks on the road and then head home and do the local/regional stuff for a couple weeks.mxpx148 Thanks this. -
Did you hire on with them right out of school?
-
No, I had previous tanker experience with Schneider. My terminal does hire new drivers, just have a clean mvr and go to a good driving school.

Trimac is a branch system so direct comparison is impossible. I average about 1400 a week take home. Highest was 2400. Maintenance has been a problem for us lately. Company bought a bunch of used Mav and J.B trucks, don't know when brand new ones will be hitting the market. We do have full size sleepers though, superior uses those small ones. Either company would be great if you can get on. They are not like most trucking companies, they get way more applications than they hire. If you get lucky and get hired on you will be better off than 90% of new drivers but most likely you will have to get experience first. Schneider is a great place to get that.
I also had experience through Schneider Bulk.mxpx148 Thanks this. -
I also run hard OTR, obviously I would make less if I ran regional so again don't directly compare NC and myself, he gets way more family time than me. Like he said it depends on how you want to run.

Hey ethos, I saw another thread that you posted on...you are on the elite team, correct?

That's awesome! How exactly does that differentiate from the regular fleet?
i appreciate all the info...I've been mulling over getting my CDL for the last couple years and I think I'm finally at the point that im ready to do it. I would plan on going otr just for the money...would probably look at running 3 weeks at a clip and take around 4 days home, depending on company policy of course. -
