Time for an update, I got my truck last Friday and was scheduled for my 1st load on Sunday.
There are a few items I wanted fixed on my truck and was told to "get bent" by maintenance. This is not an exact quote but that was the insinuation. There is bad vibration in the front end at highway speeds, the passenger side mirror wont adjust, I cant plug in a TV because the previous driver cut the coax andn maintenance said "a driver cut it a driver can fix it" I was not aware this was my truck to make repairs to but fine. I went to use the reading lamp in the bunk and the preivous driver had broken that as well, i shouldve looked closer when I saw it in the handle but nope I pulled it out put it over me and let go, it promptly hit me in the face, good times.
I was scheduled to go to PA but this didnt work out, I was put on a load that was double booked with another company and due to issues with my trailer Service Transport got there 1st. They loaded me anyway and then gave my loaded trailer to an IC and he was sent to Celburne, TX. I spent 3 hrs that day holdinng for extended only to be told there was nothing else for me.
Monday wasn't any better. I was put on and taken off of 4 loads, I finally got a load to NJ that evening but the trailer was not good. This was a HIT load and the trailer I had been given had been decommisioned for HIT so everything was deleted. They gave me another trailer, this one was loaded and by this time my DBL was gone. Calling extended again and 2.5 hrs later I spoke to someone. They give me a good trailer and tell me to get hooked up and they would update my work assignment. They removed my work assignment and never sent it back. I get up at 0400 and try to leave only to find out they screwed up again. Calling extended again and 1.5 hrs later they answered "OH Yeah" they tell me and send it over. This makes me late to my pickup. I get loaded and head out.
Currently I am sitting on the side of I59 in Alabama with a blown drive tire. I HATE SUPER SINGLES!!!! nuff said. Also, they just put that tire on the truck Friday.
I have learned much over the past few days. Extended sucks and dont expect much and you'll do fine. I do not like the feeling I have after the past few days of dealing with their crap. They are blaming all of this on their new "workflow" and I hope that is the case. I have heard alot of good things about Schneider from other drivers but right now I'm concerned. -

I thought you could only run recaps on trailers? Seems like you're just asking for trouble when you recap a SS. I am going to be here for another 2 to 3 hrs and I only have 3 1/2 left on my clock. I never have liked the SS. I have heard and seen nothing but bad out of them. The first people I have heard say anything good about them were the OSRs here and they couldnt explain what they liked about them just told me they liked them.

Is Houston the worst maintenance yard? It seems like those guys could care less.

Houston is slow both repair and the tank wash and I wouldn't bother trying to get non dot stuff fixed. Everytime I had to get a repair there it was always 3+ hour wait even for the "express" bay

Just found out they dont pay you for sitting on the side of the road when their equipment breaks. I may not be here long. My butt is starting to hurt from all this being asked to bend over and take it crap.

I just got a call that they turned my "rescue" around and sent them back to get a recap SS that they refused to pay for the new one they were brining me. The guy was right beside me. I asked them why they wanted this to happen to me again.

What made you decide to go with Schneider bulk in the first place? I see you have 7 years experience..Surely you knew going in SNBC was a great but low paying training company but not worth sticking around once you got experience.
