Houston was the absolute worst terminal/shop I had been to! Every truck coming out of there is a POS.
Those mechanics are the guys that got fired from everywhere else

I spent a while at Schneider Bulk and you have to learn their system and how to manipulate it. It still won't be as good as one of the top bulk outfits but you can make it work. The first thing and something you have already learned is Extended is absolutely useless. This is also the case at Trimac so it's probably the same everywhere. Second, always have all of your problems handled while your DBL is there. Third, Friday is the day that makes or breaks your next week. If you don't have a load by noon Friday then blow the phones up, like nuclear explode them! Fourth, complain, complain, complain when you need something done. All those maintenance issues, complain to your DBL ask them to talk to maintenance manager. Still not fixed? Talk to your terminal manager. Fifth, Schneider pays layover and breakdown in 24 hr increments, or did, so always try and be as early as possible and wait to take of as late as your trip plan will allow of you were broke down. I use to get layover once a week just by getting to my destination a day early which is easy to do with the way they plan you.
You cannot be quiet at Schneider, you must always keep squeaking when you need some grease or you will get lost in the sauce. After a year or so bail, but you can make the year more profitable by utilizing some of my methods. I can honestly say I wouldn't go back to Schneider but I did enjoy my time there and I'm glad I got the experience to move on to better things. I met some awesome people, learned a lot, no regrets.Njhandofdoom, Timinator351P, WingNut72 and 1 other person Thank this. -

On the issue of SS. If I were buying a truck I would opt for duals. For no other reason than to at least have the option of running recaps. I've never had an issue with a recap dual or a new SS. But a recap SS is without a doubt the worst tire I have ever seen. Never had one blow but the cap will start to separate unbelievably quickly. I'll never forget I got one replaced in Houston because the cap was coming off. I made two deliveries and drove about 3,000 miles and had to have the same tire replaced because the cap was, again, coming off.

Also, I know absolutely nothing about work flow so all my info could be garbage.
