Okay so after doing a little more research it sounds like Cox Petroleum is the swifts and werners of local socal fuel hauling. Thats alright, the company im currently at is worse than western express so i have little to lose.

Anyone know if cox pays by the hour? If its by the load in LA traffic i will starve. Is it reasonable to expect to make at least 50k there my first year? How about 60?

    Thanks again.

    Cali kid Thanks this.

I wouldn't say cox is Werner of fuel hauling. You could do a lot worse. They pay hourly (straight time), and have good equipment. It is one of the bigger companies though.

If you can try getting on with a company that pays OT it's where the money is at. Oh and the company I work for is called sentinel transportation.

Yep id say one of the bottom feeders is pacific tank lines. Huge turnover, they spam craigslist like crazy, they pay by the load, and make you sign a contract saying if you quit before your 2 years is up you owe them $5k. Cox is way better even though they don't pay overtime. Williams doesn't pay overtime either and gashauler seems to have good things to say about them.

Good luck on your interview! Let us know how it goes. I want to get into fuel hauling as well and wanted to know how you went about getting your 1 year experience.
