Rob, keep after it you will find your "home" If nothing else get a year in somewhere, that might just make all the difference when it comes to actual road experience. I have enjoyed reading your posts, and I have a feeling you have more than one person on this board rooting for you.

Talked to webster. The walpole branch is not hiring right now but the others were. They told me the ride to and from work would make me quit and to wait for walpole. One of the other branches is looking to see if He could hire me and have me run from walpole but pull for him.
ABF wants me to call back today to go over my application.
I worked last night for Greylawn Foods as a fueler/yard jockey it went great got to drive, shift and fuel the vehicles, drop & hook, backed a triaxel into the garage, bump the dock several times with straights and 53footers,found defects and flat tires. I could of went to CFI/Conway and had no problem with the 48 or 53 footers. Oh well,I'll find something good. Best of Luck keep me posted. ROB

My Interview went great with ABF. The TM approved my application and is now sending it off to Arkansas for final approval. I should hear back in 2-4 wks, He said to continue to do landscaping on the side because at this time its slow and at the start I will work a few days a week and will then goto Fort Smith for Schooling. He said In this business sometimes its about great timing and persistence. He said I was very persistent and respectful every-time I called him and he told me to called back. (Persistence goes a long way) Thats why he's giving me a shot. I thanked my union school director and my cousin & his friend for putting in a good word for me at ABF .It worked! I brought the TM copies of my Drivers License,Driving record,Med card,Graduation certificate and BCI. He told me to come here and work hard, be on time and he will be happy. Now the waiting game begins. I turned down a straight job this afternoon so to not burn that bridge if something happens in the future and I need some work. Patience paid off or will pay off. KNOW I NEED TO BE MORE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR THE CALL. I'm calling my old boss back to find out when the season is starting and to fill him in on what's going on. He sent word to me that I can work when ever I need It and If I don't find work before hand come help him out. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks, I hope it all works out. I will continue to look for a driving position. They have some jobs I can add onto what I'm doing at graylawn and make some more money. Projo also has a job at $17 but no bennies and one that says flexible Tue. thru thursday. I'll find out what's going on with them in the morning.

I have interviews for J Polep (reefer) Straight trucks, Triumvirate Environmental class A & B, and will recall local companies to check on the status of my application. I called a local flatbed company who I'd seen driving on the hiway. He said call back next week and I'll let you know if I;m picking up yet.
Canceled J polep $13.40 hr

Went to Interview with Triumvirate Environmental in Boston (Somerville). Interview went great.I will get a second interview or email stating otherwise within a week they said. 1 hr 15 min drive, bad traffic to and from, starting pay mid teens to low $20's, I probably could of taken the Class B job at $15 or asked for $16 and had 55 hr a week. It seems like those type of companies (oil recovery/hazmat) do some class A work but more box truck class B work.
If the pay is right then Maybe it doesn't matter but, since I eventually want to do some tank yanking it does matter. I'll keep plugging away and we shall see what happens.

No word back from Triumvirate Environmental and wont take it due to drive and traffic. My old boss called landscaping season about to start. He wants me to train his brother and supervise until I get a driving job or I can stay all season. He made it hard to say NO with a Great Raise$$. I've been filling out applications and calling people back. They say a week or two. I received some calls but they need some more experience. They tell me to get some and call in the summer. Hopefully as the weather gets better the construction companies and aggregates will be advertising.I'll keep you posted.
