BigDaddyJollyRob,

Do yourself and your family a huge favor. Stay away from any companies that are not union. I don't no anything about Superior but Millis is one of the companies that is constantly advertising. Run for the hills from them and any other carrier that advertises in truckstop magazines. Time to get ready for bed.

BigDaddyJollyRob;

I am glad you chose the right path. Good luck in all of your endevours. I hope you make it to the top of your class. I just spent the better part of an hour looking at different posts. It still amazes me what drivers accept as a "good company". If you are not paid for very minute that you are in service of the company, it is time to look elsewhere. Who in their right mind would work for someone for free? Sad, just very sad.

I called several CDL schools in the area to see if they needed any help during my slow season - they were gung-ho until they found out I am a teamster... then they ALL got cold feet...

dunno - maybe they are afraid I will spread the disease!

When I talked to carriers and told them I was going to get my CDL at the teamsters training academy they started acting strange. I told them just because I'm going to get my CDL there doesnt garentee me placement. Thats why I was researching evry aspect of the industry. I will be looking for a union job or hoping I get into Superior.

BigDaddyJollyRob,

They acted strange when you said that you were being trained at a union school? If that doesn't get peoples attention, I don't know what will. I was looking at some posts tonight from people at Priority Transportation, Roehl and others. Roehl stuck out because the poster was talking about the salary they provide if you choose to go that route. They stated that Roehl pays $940.00 for 18 to 24 months experience. If I did not work any overtime in my 5 day work week, I would make $945.60 for the week. Remember that we only work Mon thru Fri and only during the day. I was off last Friday and Monday and enjoyed a nice 4 day weekend. This week has been busy as I have worked 39 hours so far. I still have one day left to work. I will be off Saturday thru Tuesday because Mon and Tues are paid holidays and I come back to work Wednesday morning. So far this week, I have made $1099.26 and have one more day to go. Remember That I am home every night.

Do yourself and your family a big favor and find the right company.

Drive safe
