I'm a driver and I take a break when I want. The union contract says one - 30 minute and two - 15 minute, and I take them when I want to, if I want to.

So you can hold a steering wheel, but you can't touch any product (or do any real work) because it's not your job. Good job contradicting yourself.

hey knighton5, get a life!! yep, im just a kid, and ive already got a better job than you because i dont have to live in a volvo. you can spout your ######## all you want, but when i go home to my house and girlfriend, I hope you have fun whining about how the UNION guys have it too good.

And btw, every guy in the union takes their break WHEN THEY WANT TO. I can take my breaks any time throughout the day, and no one bugs me. I'd really feel bad for you, since you are running for mileage, and you DONT HAVE TIME TO TAKE A BREAK, but thats not my fault. You are the ####### that wants to live in a truck for less money, and no breaks, and no benefits, and no home time.

Are there deadlines coming up? and if so is there a plan for sanctions or even a strike order in place?

Local 100 is pretty far removed from the carhaul sections - and I am taking an interest in how many parallels they are shooting for (compared to our NMFA).

Your 23? Do you really think you'll retire from that place? I dont live in a volvo, I drive a freightliner and live in my house (paid for by my terrible job). I dont whine about anything, I just say my side of a story (even if it entertains others). My anti union remarks here arent even aimed at drivers, Im always refering to warehouse worker (because I have friends who work for Unions at Fred Meyer, Albertsons and Safeway). And yes, they all tell me they have set times for breaks and lunches. Why dont drivers like going to grocery warehouses? I'm trying to answer all of your statements here. I run for mieage? Im paid by the mile and Crete keeps me rolling quite fine thanks. I take a break whenever I want and for however long I want. Why would you assume I dont have time? I dont live in a truck for less money, I drive a truck for more money then I ever have. No breaks and no hometime? You obviously dont know trucking, but your only 23... Ive been a warehouseman, Ive unloaded, then counted, then recieved it on the computer and of course inventory control. But you cant do those things if your a member of a Union because you only have to do one job. Anyway Im done with this thread but as always if your a driver

I was eyeballing the "carhauler news" on the teamster main website...

seems like eveything has been finalized (impression I got)

I will not post link since the Scan Nazi's will delete it - but go to the main site and look it up...

regarding the Carhaulers - what is the story with Cassens (sp?)...

I am seeing more and more of them around (maybe I never noticed)

do they have a specific contract or do they run a region?

Cassens is a Illinois based company with terminals in the midwest and the east coast. They have been hauling alot of Toyota since PTS went under.
