I dont think there is such a thing as territory. its called competition. If you get underbid, it means you were either asking too much, or you can't do it for less of a cost while still remaining profitable. Competition is a good thing.

I give Alvan credit for surviving deregulation of the 1980s and hanging in there as long as they did. Most family-owned regional LTL carriers are long gone. I assume second and third generation were running the company by now, and their business ethics had to be different after deregulation.

dereg set a new standard for LTL ops - but most companies still recognize each others "teritory"...

it is up to the customer to decide -

BUT when another freight company goes courting your clients behind your back - that is the shady part I do not like.

I have a "clubhouse"....

if you screw with a gang member you have a ton of others on you...

I recieved a email about a year ago saying that there are only 2 things left made in America..... Beer and Prostitutes.. Well, I just got word that Coors owned by Miller is owned by a South African outfit, and Budweiser is being bought by a England company!!!! What is really going on?
