well ziggy - I challenge any of your buddies to try and match me pulling doubles and triples winter after winter with not a scratch...

(1.2 million miles and counting)

maybe your theory applies better to a minimum wage Swift or JB truck backing into and hitting everything in the northern hemisphere.

years from now - when my Brothers and I are retired - and "drawing" - lemme know how the flying J parking lot looks at 3am...

More often than not OTR guys work until they die - because they have to.

even 200 a week put back inot a standard 401K will only yield enough to last you 8 or 9 years at standard wage.

This is what disgusts me about SOME of the organized labor people out there. Their views on those who are not organized.

Smarter and more self respect, give me a break. No other job in the world, do you hear about someone bragging about how much they get paid an hour. "Well I was making 18 bucks and hour, but now Im making 25 bucks an hour. Franky? Well hes not doing so good, he was making 23, but now he switched to another plant and is only making 21...plus bennies"

####, when I was a teacher...I couldnt tell you how much I was making by the hour, because to me my job was more important than the pay. Also ...I was salaried. If you had to pay me for ALL my hours, youd keel over. I seriously wonder how many organized labor supporters would support a substantial tax increase on their local taxes to support paying for their teachers total clock time.

In my job...I get paid to...do my job. Salaried. Best way I can think of it being done. No way to mess around with talking with the Joe Schmoe for 60 minutes and getting paid to do so. No, I get paid the same amount, whether my job takes me 50 or 80 hours a week to do it. My goal is actually to get done and get home as soon as possible.

If you want to work for the union / teamsters or whatever...fine...whatever turns your crank. But don't sit there, sticking up your nose at other drivers who feel they can do perfectly fine on their own.

My view point has been made on here before regarding organized labor. And at the end of the day, its about the job being performed. If you are going to sit here and tell me that you could provide a better job , better quality of work and better performance at your 25 an hour compared to me; you are very, extremely mistaken. And then it all boils down to...why should a company pay outrageus wages for a job that requires the skills of a ......?
It all comes down to competition and comparable wages. Sure, I MAY do my job for less than you would. But at the same time, I don't consider what I do to be worth a high wage either. I can't find enough drugs to get me into that disillusioned state of mind.

Here is the deal.

Those that want to act like children and post insults are going to ruin it for every one.

I removed "retarded monkey" insults and this thread will be closed.

The moderator staff is sick and tired of childish actions from those that consider themselves adults but cannot control themselves and act like adults.

There will be no further warnings.
