Not!!

Unions have outlived their usefulness, have lost most bargaining power, and suck the members for dues. Unions can no longer assure people of jobs.

When GM goes broke, the pension will be practically worthless as an autoworker.
So are you saying we should move to China and get one of those great jobs?

Thanks...school rookie as of the 25th.

Never been in a union you liked? Do you want to compare PAM to a union company? Do you know that the guy who owns Pam also owns companies with union workers? Do you want to compare Pam's safety record with Yellow? How about pay? Believe me after driving for PAM for a year you will be wishing you were driving for Yellow,Roadway,Holland,UPS, or even Mohawk. Better lube yourself up good before you report to PAM.

why i hate the union

unions are more for the companies these days i have been in the teamsters sence 1974 and have never seen any thing like i have in the past 5 years it got so bad i just walked away gave up 12 years with the place i was working when the union lets the company take over 200 a week away and tell you it's a good contract and by the way your dues
are going up it's time to go so know i am looking for a halfway decent
place to drive for is there any lol?

Unions

WHY, can a lumper unload my trailer (on pallets) in 20 to 30 minutes, but it takes a reciever (UNION) 2 to 4 hours to count 3 rows of the same item? If the lumper counted the items, it would take 30 more minutes!! Albertson Union workers told me (I know some of them) that there Union rules say they have to count so many pieces in an hour or shift.... So they could actually count the MINIMUM pieces per shift in probably 4 or 5 hours and do NOTHING the rest of the shift, because they met there goal that day, WE THE TRUCKERS SUFFER!!! No team work at all when a Union is involved..

union

That is what is in their contract. Since a non-union worker has no contract he doesn't have a minimum to do and could do even less work, maybe that is why he gets paid less. If he works faster then he is making less for the work he does. If you were getting paid as you should, then the longer it took them to unload you, the more money you would make. So blame yourself for sitting for free.

Of course they do. Union workers feel entitled to their job, regardless of their performance. the only union I was ever a part of was the Local 781 International Brotherhood of Painters and allied trades. It was a weak union. Much too cozy with the company owners. All they ever did for me was take my dues. I know someone who is a long time member of the SEIU and they asked me after about a year what I thought of being a "union" man. I told her I couldn't say, I would let her know if and when the first time came that I needed the lunion to go to bat for me. That time came and went and the ####### did nothing for me.
