I personally got ran off I43 by a swift intermodal driver while I was in my personal vehicle. It was the most absurd move I have ever seen on the highway. He was behind me and changed to the left lane to pass. I was right under the "swift" logo on his trailer when he decided to change back to the right lane, running me out of the right lane. I get back into the traffic lanes, speed up and get his tractor number. I spent about an hour on the phone with a bunch of moronic swift employees before I get the proper department for reporting bad driving. I tell them the situation and they say they will definitely reprimand the driver... Fast forward to the next week.... I call them back and ask them what and if anything happened with that situation, and they said they have absolutely no record of my complaint.... I told him that his employer was a joke of an outfit and his whole company could f off...

I gotta start keeping a brick or two under my driver seat for those situations. I'm not a violent person, but some people need to be taught a lesson.

I have not heard of a union that stopped a company from going overseas.Or to Mexico.I have seen some companys that were bought out then shut down to get the union out of course it was one of those half union an half non union. Then after so long they started it up as non union.
Dont get me wrong I have nothing against Unions. But have been told by Union workers it getting to be a buddy and a thing now.I have been to some good Union places and I have been to some that would not scratch their A--- without being told by four bosses.

When you as a union guy go to a place like that do they provide the vaseline for you or require you to bring you own?

Unions single handedly have been able to run many many companies either out of business or moved their operations out of the US to where they could continue to operate and stay in business.

Wake up to reality and see that the union does not create a utopia. Also look at the equipment union guys get to drive. No CB, no stereo, no jake brakes, lucky to have heat and AC.
Look again some dont have A/C. Most of the local trucks dont and they need it most. What do you mean talking about those fine trucks they drive and park way in back of the truckstop out of sight.I forgot about UPS has air you see them driving with both doors open Real Safe ??????

Many unions have stopped companies from going overseas, but it doesn't make headline news. If a unionized co get outsourced overseas, it's all over the news.

We were a brotherhood and it was working out very well. Those of us who were not interested in voting for the teamsters were treated very bad by the teamster reps. They used scare tactics like crazy. I had one of them on my step while I was at a red light, I called the sheriffs department as the light turned green and I was driving away attempting to get this jerk off of my truck! I had sever flat tires on my personal vehicle during that time, as did some other brotherhood represtitives. I ended up parking my personal vehicle at the shop so they could watch it for me. Some of these people also almost hit the truck my husband was driving because they were waving a teamster jacket out the window of a car and swerving all over the road.

I am sorry, but I dont want to be a part of an organization who allows their rep's to act in that manner.

Maybe other local's are better, if I remember right this was local 952 several years ago.

I hope that other locals have better and more respectful behavior.
I am sure that with some companies union representation is necessary, I just do not think that is the way to get votes.
I have seen picket walkers walking are should I say staggering te picket line trying to cause trouble. The police would not do anything Why? They were Union.
